Mamatha
My name is Mamatha. I come from a small village near devanahalli and completed my 10th standard with great difficulty since most of the girls in our never completed schooling. My aunt was the one supporting me since my parents were not in a position to look after me. After I finished schooling I was interested to join PUC but I was unable since my family financial condition was poor. I thought of joining a job and supporting myself for further studies, but I was unable to find a job since I had no skills. Then in 2011 I saw a pamphlet of SJCC and visited the college along with my aunt who saw a ray of hope. SJCC admitted me in one their Scholarship programs which gave me assess to attend SJCC during day and St Joseph’s Evening College in the evening to do my PUC and stayed at Navaspoorthi hostel at actually no cost. I finished my PUC and Diploma and today I work Dunkin Donuts and earn about Rs.12000 to support myself and my family. Thank you SJCC for helping to stand on my own legs and being an inspiration to all the girls in my village.
