2020–21
Affiliation to NIOS
In the academic year 2020–21, the college got the affiliation as the study centre and exam centre for NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling), an "Open School" catering to a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. It began as a project by CBSE in 1979. In 1986, the National Policy on Education pushed for strengthening Open School Systems across the country with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.

St Joseph's Community received an award for the Best Institute for Training and Job Placement from Malathi Krishnamurthy Holla — an international para-athlete and recipient of the Arjuna & Padma Shri awards. The award ceremony was held on Saturday, 26th October 2019 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

St. Joseph’s Community College received the “Best Leadership Award” for the year 2018 at the Bengaluru NGO’s Leadership Awards for the tireless service rendered to students and offering them ample job opportunities to build their future.
2018–19
Affiliation to NSDC
The academic year 2018–19 will always be remembered as SJCC had its academic streams affiliated to the highest-recognized body for Skill Education in the country — NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). Five job roles in the sectors of ITES, Electrical & Electronics, General Duty Assistant (Nursing), Logistics, and Banking & Finance were approved. From then on, all SJCC certificates carried NSDC certification for the respective skill sectors.

Decennial Celebration
The Decennial Celebration of St. Joseph’s Community College was held in January 2015. It was a grand celebration with a one-day seminar & inter-community college sports and cultural events called “Waves”.
The seminar was themed “Prospects and challenges of community colleges” at the St. Joseph’s auditorium. Chief Guest Mr. C R Francis gave the keynote address.
The celebration began at 4:30 PM on 31st Jan 2015 at St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions Auditorium. The dignitaries included Fr. Stanislaus D’Souza (Provincial, Karnataka Jesuit Province), Mr. Harris MLA (Shanti Nagar), Fr. Xavier Alphonse (Founder of Community Colleges in India), Fr. Anil D’Mello (Rector, SJII), and Fr. Melwyn Lobo (Director, SJCC).
2013
UGC Recognition
UGC (University Grants Commission) recognized St. Joseph’s Community College in 2013. Two diploma courses — ITES and Retail Management — were officially recognized with a 50-student intake each.
